Salon22: Pioneering a New Era of Feminine Power and Collaboration in the Metro Area
Transforming a Historic Church into a Modern Haven for Women Leaders
Salon22 LLC is a visionary establishment for women located at 2407 Bienville St., New Orleans, LA. Founded in September 2021 by Christa Talbott, Fay Kimbrell, Fresh Johnson, and Mariska Morse, Salon22 has rapidly evolved into a dynamic and diverse community of over 150 founding members. A co-working space, event venue, and professional social club, Salon22's carefully designed space harnesses feminine power, providing an environment where women can connect, collaborate, work, and create like never before.
Celebrating the feminine power and inclusivity
The journey to Salon22's new location in mid-city New Orleans is steeped in history. Housed in a renovated 1944 church designed by Ferdinand Lucien Rousseve, Salon22 embraces the legacy of the first Black architect licensed in Louisiana. The building's renovation, led by NANO, one of the city's premier architectural firms, preserves its historical significance while transforming it into a modern hub for women. The Salon22 founders honor the importance of the historical legacy of the mid-city church, which was built on the premise of community and the idea of bringing like-minded people together to develop positive outcomes through collaboration. Women supporting women, igniting optimism across the metro area is an important goal of Salon22.
Diversity: The Heartbeat of Salon22
Diversity is at the core of Salon22's mission. The founders believe that a diverse space is the breeding ground for innovation, creativity, and meaningful exchanges of ideas. Salon22's carefully designed space harnesses feminine power, providing an environment where women can connect, collaborate, work, and create like never before.
"Salon22 is not just a place to work; it's a movement," says Christa Talbott, one of the co founders. "New Orleans needs a space created by and for women with the intentional goal of bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds, fostering solidarity and collective activism. These spaces are essential for building a more inclusive, equitable, and just society."
Fay Kimbrell, another founder, adds, "Women possess a unique skill set the world needs right now. New Orleans women, in particular, are creative, powerful, and ready to see change within themselves and their communities. Salon22 provides the container for this transformation."
